Okay, need some help guys! I have a 2000 Excursion w/240k which suddenly died on me in the Steak & Shake parking lot the other day. Here is what it is doing:
Cranks, no wts, no tach, only lights are abs/battery/theft, fuel pump works/fuel in bowl.
Here's what I have done:
Replaced cps, checked ipr - had a little oil in connector-probably should replace, unplugged ipr to default-no start, checked #30 fuse-good, fuel heater had been disconnected for some time
When I bought the truck, it came with a Diablo tuner which I have run for years without any trouble. After reading how it can affect things, I removed it and it started but died almost imediately. It tried to start a couple more times, then nothing again, just cranks.
It sounds like the pcm but doesn't the pcm power the fuel pump? Could only part of the pcm be bad and is there any way to test it? I don't have access to another pcm. Also, when I checked the oil level after it died, it wasn't even touching the dipstick. Yeah, I know, it's my wifes truck and I haven't been giving necessary attention to it lately. No exuses! I just wonder if low oil could have caused whatever the problem is. There are no visible leaks so the oil has to be going somewhere. I checked the fuel for oil and it was clear. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
