In the middle of preparing for the project by waiting on parts and trying to find bits of time to do project I noticed my engine compartment was blah in comparison to the overall condition of truck. I decided to jazz it up.
In town next door to the NAPA auto parts in the same industrial complex in Hunt Valley Md. I found RC Hotcoats Powdwer Coating.
He showed me his link to Prizmatic Powders. That is the brand product he uses.
Randy the owner has been factory trained by Prizmatic in California. Being trained like that by the manufacturer at the factory not a how to in the Vista Room at the Marriott really is beneficial to achieving a really high quality job.
The discipline is similar to painting but different and the material has it's unique physical characteristics in how it acts from being applied to how it acts while melting. These differences can vary even by the color you choose. It is amazing stuff, an amazing process and art.

The two colors I chose are racing red and illusion royal. The illusion Royal is almost identical to new Ford blue but with fine metallic flake and clear coat. It's is like metallic royal candy. It and the racing red started with a super Chrome base.
