I just pick up an 88 F250 7.3 IDI and it has a miss under acceleration. It doesn't seem to be there at idle or while cruising. It has a new injector pump (didn't run when he got it, now it does) and seems to run like a top, other than the miss.
Where or how do I start the diag on this?
It also has vacuum problems. The C6 shifts HARD and at high rpm's, but goes through all the gears with no slipping or other ills. The HVAC system also shows vacuum problems.
Is there a certain place or check valve to look for?
I'm a good wrench and have a good mix of tools, but never had to work on any of my diesels before.
