After reading the forums, I concluded the first thing I should do to improve battery life is add current capacity between the batteries. This would address the extra strain on the passenger side battery during starts and also deliver an 'even charge' on both.
Someone commented that the next thing I should do is add another cable directly from the alternator output to the driver side battery. It was said that I was putting undue strain on my FICM, which would be alleviated with the extra cable.
I've tried to find that post, but can't.
Anyway, is there a good explanation of why the FICM is strained, even in the case of a 2/0 cable between the 2 batteries?
