Ok, help me out here. In May I purchased a 93 f350 crew cab dually with a 7.3 IDI, dont know what trans, with about 360k on it (it is auto w/ overdrive). Dont really know much history as far as major repairs or replacements. I took this truck on a trip of about 2000 miles pulling a travel trailer that wieghs maybe 3500 to 4000 lbs. max. I was amazed at the total lack of power available. I couldnt get it over 65mph, and if I came to a long rolling hill in Iowa on I 80 it would drop to 50-55 and downshift. This is my first diesel but I had a Chevy 6 litre that pulled a much largwer trailer with ease. Also any speed over 55 caused the trans to start overheating and dumping fluid. Is this truck just worn out? What would a solution be? Rebuild both? The truck is in really good shape otherwise. Should I just cut my losses and dump it? How much wouild anyone guess it takes to make it good again? Thanks, Scott
