While driving I heard a whining noise and pulled over to find power steering fluid covering the drivers side fender area. I checked and my PS was very low. I filled it back up with PS fluid (yes, now I know that it takes ATF) and drove back home. To my surprise it didn't leak anymore. Upon a friends recommendation, I replaced the high pressure hose. After doing so, I noticed a whine whenever I was turning--especially at slower speeds.
So a few days later after some Googling, I proceed to flush the system with 3 quarts of Mercon ATF and top it off with a 4th quart. Now the steering whine is no better than before AND the brake pedal whines and feels different. When I press the brakes while sitting still I can hear the pump whine. I was careful not to let the reservoir get too low and take in air--at least I thought I was anyway.
What should I do now??
