Hi Guys,
I'm brand new to the forum. I have a 2006 F250 6.0 that I just purchased with 55k. It has a 6 inch Pro Comp Suspension Lift and 38" A/Ts. I bought the truck with 52k and bought an extended warranty with it bc of some of the things I had read and heard about the 6.0. After just 3,000 miles I think I may be putting my extended warranty to use.
My truck is shifting hard when going into 3rd gear. If I don't accelerate too fast it doesn't shift as hard but still revs up beyond normal. During normal driving, it shifts hard enough to throw me back in my seat. If I really lay on the throttle it has a REALLY long shift but doesn't throw me back in my seat as bad. Once I get out of 3rd gear all the other gears shift like normal. The other gear I'm having trouble with is Reverse. When I put it in R, I do not have any creep whatsoever. I have to put the accelerator about half way down before it'll even engage. Before it engages, it just sits there like if I was revving the engine in N. Just now when I was backing into my driveway, I had to really rev it up and while I was trying to back in my Tow/Haul light started blinking.
I've looked around here and a couple of other forums for possible answers. There are some other people that had similar issues when they disconnect the battery and have a chip. I've tried the recommended steps to get my tranny to relearn what it's supposed to be doing but still no luck. I also just changed my fuel filters and got fresh oil and a new oil filter, thinking maybe the previous owner didn't do any of that. But still having the same problem with 3rd gear and Reverse.
My concern is that I didn't disconnect the battery, my truck is not chipped and I performed all maintenance on it. With only 55k, I shouldn't be having these problems.
Has anyone had these same issues on a non-chipped truck? Thanks for any feedback. I really did do my research before starting a new thread, I know as a newbie it's not cool to start threads about topics that have already been covered.
