Lately ive been having an issue with my truck losing power and running rough when decelerating from highway speeds (60+). It starts up very easy but sometimes i can feel the truck shake a little at idle and heavier when accelerating. The problem use to be much worse before i replaced the IPR plug, broke it down to clean, and went back with new seals and a new nut. Before i serviced the IPR the truck would not run once it got warm above any speed the torque converter was locked. It would also smoke white at that time.
The truck has a constant 60 psi of fuel due to a CPRx kit from dieselsite. It also has a CPS with less than 700 miles on it. No oil was found in the IPS sensor plug. The only thing ive seen is excessive oil residue on the CPS plug for some reason. The bolt holding it in is tight. I bought AE to run buzz, cylinder contribution, KOEO, and KOEO tests. All tests ran fine and didnt return any codes. I ran the truck and kept an eye on injection pressure anf IPR duty cycle. Pressure never went above 2300 on a hard accl. with duty cycle never going above 32% or so.
The only other odd symptom im noticing is that when the problem happens on deceleration, the speedometer needle fluctuates up and down about 8 mph while the truck is running rough. When cruising or accelerating from a stop the speedo is fine.
I'm at a loss as to what could be causing this. If anyone has any suggestions on what to test next please let me know. I'd hate to just have to start throwing parts at the problem.
