Ok
I'm about to turn my truck over to a shop so I don't just throw parts at it guessing. Here's where I am: previously windows would not go down, chim was off, wipers were not working, dome was not working, EOSF was not working trip commuter not working, speedo not working
I purchased and replaced the GEM and that fixed everything but the Speedo and Trip computer. Yesterday symptoms started coming back with new GEM (was good for about 3 weeks)
windows not working and wipers not working, (speedo never came back so that wasn't new)
I unplugged all wires to the GEM
re-plugged and everything worked. It's making mysterious sounds again and today while driving about 50mph it tried to shift into 4 LOW on it's own, yes 4 LOW at 50mph, ouch
light came on and horrible grinding in the front end
.as soon as I hit brakes and cycled 4WD switch it went away
.So
I was already wondering if I should have replaced the fuse box as well when I swapped out the GEM. Could the fuse box cause these problems??..new GEM helped but something is throwing it off as it's starting to act up again
.I'm ready to turn it over to a shop but thought I would throw this out to you guys one more time

..speedo has me stumped as well as I don't think its tied to the GEM
.I changed speed sensor on rear diff
not luck
