Hello everyone,
My name is Joe, and I am new to this forum. In reality, I know next to nothing about Ford trucks (I do own a diesel station wagon, however :icon_wink:).
The reason I decided to register is because I need the experts' help. My father in law passed unexpectedly a few weeks ago. He was a retired marine who loved diesel trucks, and always wanted to be prepared for any contingency.
My wife and I are helping out my MIL to take care of all the little things that one must do when someone dies. Among those, we have to sell several items that she does not want or need. He owned a 2005 F250 powerstroke diesel, extended cab. I have been researching the values, but they range wildly, from $9k to over $25k.
As I said, my FIL was retired, so essentially this truck was just used mostly as a personal vehicle, with the occasional trip to the dump, or helping a friend move furniture. It is the luxury model, with leather seats, CD changer, etc. It is 4x4, automatic and has a little over 40k miles. It has a cattle guard, winch, almost brand new Michelin tires (less than 3K miles on them), and a Craftsman toolbox. It is in Arizona, and it has never been in an accident (he was the original owner). He was a very conscientious man, so all the maintenance was done on time and at the dealer (she has all the records, I believe).
So, in short, I need help in figuring out how much she should get for the truck, so that she doesn't get shortchanged. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.
Joe
