My front rotors had hairline cracks but I put off replacing them and the front brake pads until I could afford the upper & lower ball joints that I also needed.
Because of this my brakes got to the point where they were metal to metal & then I blew the left front caliper.
Now I replaced the ball joints, front brakes and rotors and the left brake caliper.
Bled the brakes really well and the pedal feels hard when the truck is off.
But when the truck is running and I push the pedal it feels hard but then goes a little soft.
The brakes work ok with truck empty but just don't feel right and I want to fix it before I haul a lot of weight or tow a heavy trailer.
Would this be the master cylinder, the booster, a vacuum problem or something else?
Is there some way to test to see which it is so I don't waste money on parts I don't need?
THANKS!
