Fuel/water separator question

The water separator I have uses either the R24s or R26s filters. I have been having a hard time finding good filters. Both of these filters are hard to come as it is. I ordered 2 online from a place that came up in a search and the both of them that were shipped to me looked rusty on the top of the filter, so I didn't use them. Both were in shrink wrap mind you. I then ordered 2 filters from another location and same deal with one of them, the other was fine, so I used that one.

It's getting to the point where I'm pretty sure the current filter is getting clogged so I need to get some more. I have the feeling that maybe these filters aren't made anymore so all the ones being sold by people have been sitting on the shelf for awhile, hence the rust.

My first question is, has anyone bought any of either of these filters lately and they were in decent shape? If so, where did you buy them from.

Second question is, would I be better switching out the water separator I have for something newer? Also, what would be my best options for a replacement unit? I know that Racor still makes them and I have heard of people using Wix units. I am tempted to go with this option so I can be sure the filters I'm buying are going to be brand new and not on the shelf for 10 years.

Lastly I need to start replacing all of the rubber fuel hose on the supply side of the fuel system. Is it all the same size?
