Long time 7.3 owner....recently purchased a beautiful Excursion, 2005.
I recently have bluish colored smoke coming out of the exhaust during warm up when I start the engine. It dissipates as soon as the engine is up to operating temp. It has only been happening in temps below 40 degrees.
The only other odd thing is even when the truck is at operating temp, if I sit at a traffic light for more than a minute, when I begin to move again I'll get a blast of the same smoke for 3 seconds.
I checked everything on AE and the stats couldn't be more flawless.
I suspect a bad injector or injector O-rings.
The only code I got on AE was for a bad exhaust backpressure sensor, which I cleared and has not come back.
I got a new sensor but have not installed it yet. Would that particular sensor cause a smoking issue? The exhaust backpressure valve has been
working properly in cold temperatures still.
Anyone's input would be welcome....thanks.
Truck is completely stock and has about 136K on the clock.
