So today I spent longer than expected on replacing the gaskets and o rings on my oil cooler. So after I got everything on and installed back, I went to pore coolant in under the hood and I noticed it was leaking pretty bad from under neath the truck where I installed the new gasket. I had a very hard time getting the top bolt off since its 13 years old and probably never been off before..
Anyways would it hurt if I take the front part of the oil cooler, remove the bolts and put RTV silicone around it so it wont leak? The green RTV kind.
I don't know what caused the leak.... And I was an idiot because when I first started and removed the back first and I unscrewed the block plug first instead of taking out the drain bolt, so it made a huge mess. I have no coolant left at all in the front.
