Bought my 01 7.3 PSD and had PROBLEEEEEEMS since the first week.
I've read online help tons and done almost every free/cheap attempt to fix my problems. So get this...
Symptoms:
I have to help transmission shift EVERY shift. Will kick hard if I don't baby it.
I'm easily missing 50hp-80hp.
Still drive it almost daily, even pulled my 5th wheel home from MS (speed dropped to 40mph from 72 going uphill.)
Recently noticed my turbo wheel dinged up like it ate a handful of rocks!
BUT! Turbo wheel has no play. Any direction.
Going to attempt a soap and water boost leak test tomorrow..
And to top it off, leave it idling and after about 3 min it seems to accelerate itself almost 300 rpms /: (ICP sensor had some oil in it but even after cleaning to perfection and trying to idle again.. Same prob)
I understand these could all be completely seperate and I need my truck fully diagnosed.. I'm just hoping someone can point me in a specific direction for no cost or low cost at all as I'm between jobs right now.
