It all started out with my 2008 F350 PSD appearing to run out of fuel with engine shut down. After coasting to the side of the road the truck would turn over quickly for ten seconds or so then start up and run normally. It would go through this cycle every ten minutes or so.
I was able to get it to a Ford Dealer who diagnosed the codes and said they showed a high pressure fuel pump failure. They also said a recent service bulletin from Ford suggested a reflash of the computer to fix the problem? They did the reflash and told me it worked.
The fuel pump would have been a $3500.00 repair so I am glad the refash worked but I can't help but think this is only a temporary fix. Any one else have a similar experience. I am feeling it is time for a new truck!
