well now that the trip is over.
the mpg for my truck was great. mostly 18 - 19 mpg.
but the last leg i got 22+ miles per gallon.
2006 6.0 auto 4X4, quad cab short bed (mty) stock other wise.
only mod i know of is the coolant by-pass filter.
trip was from outside of stockton, Ca. to portland, Ore. up and back on I5.
not trying to do "tricks" for better mileage. just driving to get there. ac on all the way. cruse control also used most of the time.
now to find out and cure the random no start problem.
truck got new oil and new filters (oil/fuel) today.
(why the hell do motor manf not build to be = to the gallon not at part gallons?)
due to price the air will be next month. lots of smoke ash in the air now anyhow.
