I just bought a 1991 F-250 7.3L and have been doing a few repairs on it. The main issue was replacing the fuel injector line for cylinder #4, and in the process I noticed that the glow plug for cylinder #6 was out. It disintegrated when I touched it, so fair to say that it needs to be replaced (I'll probably just do all of them). FWIW, it does start fine but the temps are pretty warm.
The issue I'm having is that the top of the engine block is really dirty - partially due to the previously leaking fuel line, and partially due to mice taking up residence. Obviously I don't want to get water into the engine, but I'm not sure how to clean them out especially since I have to remove the air filter to get to the plugs in the back. Any suggestions?
