I have a 2004 F450 with a Fontaine Classic Hauler bed that I want to use for a truck camper. The camper weighs close to 5K so I want to make sure it's secure. The bed and the rear air bags prevent the traditional Torklift tie downs from bolting on so I found a welder that can make the tubes for the inserts and weld them to the frame rails. So that would be four different welding locations under the truck bed.
Can you weld to the frame; are they heat resistant?
What steps should the welder take to insure there is no damage to the truck electronics?
Thanks guys
