The other install I did...

Not long after I bought my 2012 F250 I bought an aftermarket in dash nav radio, plays dvd's too. Lately I have been having lots of issues with it, mostly the nav. It will sometimes load the nav screen right up and sometimes I would have to mess with it to get the nav to load and sometimes it just won't load at all. And I have also had intermittent issues with the DVD/CD player not working.

So, I finally got fed up with it and started searching for a new unit. Would like to have a real high end unit like from kenwood or something like that but didn't want to shell out the big bucks. So, after poking around on google for a while, I came across something I hadn't seen before. It is a head unit, single DIN, with a detachable face/screen, that was only $199 on ebay. What really caught my attention was the size of the screen, the manufacturer says it is 9.3", but after getting it I measured it at only 9" but it is still HUGE!

This is definitely NOT something for most cars and even took a little bit of work for me to get it to mount in my truck with enough clearance. I bought a double DIN to single DIN mounting kit from Metra and still had to modify it to get it mounted. To clear the dash and leave enough room to be able to get to some of the HVAC buttons I had to space it out about an inch from the face of the dash.

The nav is the same brand software as the one I took out so I'm already familiar with it and it is very good, IGO Primo by Naviextras, used by lots of car makers on their oem nav units.

The DVD player works great, can watch movies going down the road if I wanted to.

The radio in this unit seems to be way better than my old one.
