On my 2000 F350 I want to replace my faded headlights to an updated style but it seems the more I look the more I'm confused. I don't want to just pick the coolest looking ones off of eBay.
I'd like the following:
I was leaning toward a model by Spec-D Tuning (e.g., 2lh-f25099-ks) but after closer reading, these aren't DOT approved.
From what I can tell the following ANZO light assemblies are DOT approved and don't require modifications to install:
There are other brands such as APC, KS, Spyder and RECON, but often it is difficult to find installation instructions specific to the F-Series to know.
I've also tried finding Halo Projectors that don't require mods, but have read conflicting information on how bright they really are and have less info on DOT/SAE approval.
Are the Halo Projectors even worth it? After you get past the bling, do they last and do the perform?
I'd really appreciate information on specific brands you all have had first hand experience with for the 99-04 light options.
Thanks!!
I'd like the following:
- DOT/SAE certified
- No modifications required for installation
- Willing to do minor wire splicing
- Need both headlight and turn signal/reflector replaced (passenger side reflector broken)
- Reputable brand with source for any warranty issues
- Great light output and visibility
- Durable and easy to replace bulbs.
