Attachment 46841Hey my fellow ford diesel fans, wow I missed you guys, I haven't been around for a while due to the lack of internet in my home but I'm back now and i would love to know if someone here can help me to identify the transmission in my truck. I have a 1990 f-250 4x4 diesel automatic with overdrive. with the 7.3 idi that we so love. my transmission crapped out and I found out that it was because of the torque converter, had i known and changed it before my tranny would be fine. i need to know if the tranny from other years of this truck can fit in mine because I am having sooo much trouble finding an exact match, not so many people have junked many 1990 diesel 4x4 f250s around here im guessing that they are rare . so yea if the trans from another year like 89 or 91 is the same Im willing to look for the newest possible year tranny that she will take. and another thing is that id like to identify the trans without actually taking it out if thats possible. someone had told me that i can do that with the vin number or the sticker on the door. i dont know exactly how to do it but I took a picture of the sticker maybe you guys can help me.
