Hello folks,
I was doing some reading and watching youtube videos in preparation for replacing the STC fitting on my 2005 truck with 75k miles. I'm doing this as preventative maintenance, not having any problems with the truck.
In a couple of the youtube videos, the fitting was broken/blown apart so it was just taken apart by hand... no tool needed. Then I was watching Dieseltechron's video, and he used a tool at 12:12 of his video. Do I need this tool, if the fitting isn't already broken? Is there some other way to get it apart without using a special tool? If so, please be specific about what I can do to avoid buying a special tool. If I do have to buy it, please provide a link to the least expensive source.
Here is a link directly to the specific time in Dieseltechron's video where he uses the tool to disconnect it.

Thanks,
Bosco
