the story

Started out on trip towing 7000 lb trailer got 10 miles truck started to sputter then died, was able to get it restarted and it died 2 more times but I finally got back home..

Before taking truck to Ford dealer 1st time I disconnected edge 1 day before to see if that helped it did not..left it disconnected

$1100 later told good to go, 2 weeks later I start back out pulling trailer and got 150 miles and same problem engine sputters, etc.. happens again

Finally got it back to dealer today after waiting for them to call me back
Told them I wasn't real happy
Service writer told me that since I disconnected Edge before bringing it in 1st time that it might have erased codes and when they tested it all problems did not show up ??

When I took it in 1st time I mentioned HPOP that I had read it might be the problem, I tested FICM voltage and it was ok...

What they did for $1100 was replace Fuel pressure regulator
Replace injector control pressure sensor and removed fuel pump and cleaned it and replaced gaskets..

After picking truck up 1st time I replaced both 5 year old batteries with 850Amp new batteries and changed oil and filter, I used motorcraft filter..

They are going to call me tomorrow 6-17-2014 with another estimate..
said they would work with me ???

Can edge remove codes stored in computer when removed ??

Lot more to story but for now I wonder if what I was told about Edge removing codes being true.. and if so if there was still a problem would it show up when tested
I am not a diesel mechanic but have done a lot of work on engines over the last 60 years and some thing doesn't smell good
