On a quick trip to town today, about 20 miles on the freeway, I was running higher than normal EGT's. 1100 - 1200 with the truck empty at about 65-70 mph. This started in the first 3 or 4 miles. Boost seemed on the low side, but the truck was empty so it might have been in regen.
Anyhow, about 15 miles into the trip, the engine light came on. Everything seemed to still be running ok. EGT actually came down and boost was down. It wasnt until I got off and back on the freeway that I was sure I had lost some power.
So how do I determine the trouble code or codes? Id rather not start at the dealer. Off hand through reading on this site, Im hoping for CAC Intercooler boot leakage. Would that throw a code? I dont see anything obvious, but there is some soot on both the passenger side boots, especially compared to the drivers side, which is relatively clean.
