Stage 1 injectors

I have a question... So I am going to the single shot stage 1 injectors. I have most everything on the bench.
My question is.... What if the chip goes out or has an issue... Does the the truck die or will it still run?
Should I have Matt burn me a back up chip? I don't like to be left on the side of the road. People think I am crazy with my bag of parts. CAC boots, an variety of sensors, A starter (wife hated that purchase) and since my last problem 10 quarts of oil. I guess I want to be prepared and able to help someone.
