I have an unusual noise in my '13 350 srw truck. When I shift from reverse to drive or drive to reverse and I step on the gas I hear a loud thud. It only makes this noise when I go from one to the other but as long as I stay in that direction it won't do it again. It did not make this noise when I first bought the truck but by 7000 miles it was very loud. I took it in for the oil change and had the local Ford dealer look at it. The shop said that they fixed it and all was quite again. By 14000 miles the noise was back. I took it to the another Ford dealer in another town (I travel for work) and they looked at it for 2 days. This is a different shop than the first and this one said that whatever the tech wrote down for the repair the first time was not the problem. I just got it back and the dealer says that Ford says it is a normal sound. They said " inspect drive line for noise concerns when put in gear no abnormal drive line noise heard at this time can hear one way clutch engaging in rear of trans normal noise when put in gear under load all ok" I have a hard time with this one as I have had other trucks that never make this noise. Is this truly a normal noise?
