Hello,
Just bought my 1st diesel 91 F 350 Crew cab 4x4 7.3 non turbo
New to the diesel engines. Have a few quick silly questions.
I keep smelling diesel fuel in the cab of the truck but not really out side of it. I hung air fresheners in the cab last night. Smells good this morning I didn't really smell the diesel smell until I ran some earns for 45 min. The odor was strongest on the passenger side back cab area?
I think the exhaust sounds like a gas engine with cherry bombs during hard acceleration. (crackle/pop noise) when I get the a normal speed and cruise along is sounds like a diesel truck. Is there anything I can do get rid of the crackle/pop sound?
Temperature here is about 50's I have to cycle glow plugs 2 times before it will start. For rest of the day it's fine even 4 hrs later. It's only like that for the first start up.
I filled up both tanks and so far only used the front tank. I have driven roughly 70 mile and already saying I have only 1/2 a tank? Any ideas or is this normal?
Thanks
Michael
