My friend has a 2005 6.0L Diesel that we have done head gaskets and stud kits on. Also have eliminated the EGR cooler.
Lately, there is excessive pressure in the cooling system. This has been analyzed by an independent shop and determined to NOT be combustion gases in the cooling system. So as a diesel mechanic, I suspect that turbo boost pressure is getting into the coolant somehow through intake gaskets or etc.
Has anyone heard of this on the 6.0L and what may be at fault?
I am going to try disconnecting the turbo pipe and driving around to see if pressure still builds in the cooling system or not!
Any help would be appreciated as more minds are better than 1.
Thanks, Dennis
