Oil in intercooler

I'm going to have my intercooler pipes powder coated this week (or at least that's the current plan.) And I'm considering removing the OEM intercooler and draining it.

Has anyone done this? Removed it, hung it sideways for a day? How much oil came out?

Or is this a waste of time?
