Grinds going into second

My tranny grinds into second when I first start driving it. After I drive it for a while it won't grind. I'm trying to get rid of the grinding when it is cold as I can't shift into second gear. I've changed the tranny fluid to redline aft. I've done the hiem joint on the clutch master cylinder. I've checked the clutch peddle movement and when the peddle is an inch from the floor the clutch master cylinder rod is all of the way down. I've read that I should move the arm one tooth forward, but I didn't mark where the arm was pulled off. I tried moving the arm forward, but I think it was moved too far forward as the clutch master cylinder rod would be all of the way down when the pedal was 3/4's of the way depressed. Looking for some other ideas to try.
