Hopefully some one has seen this before and they can help me out.
As for the truck it's an '04 F350 crew cab 2wd DRW long bed with 188000 miles on it. I was driving and suddenly it lost power the water in fuel & the glow plug light came on it stumbled for a second or three then the glow plug light cut off fallowed shortly after by the water in fuel light. I had no throttle response while the lights were on but it started to run normal after they went out. When I got home I looked under the hood and under the truck but did not see any thing out of the ordinary, so I let it go. Several days later I was towing my dump trailer delivering mulch and it started again intermittently same symptoms but now when the water in fuel & glow pug lights came on it would turn off the tow/haul mode. I found no water in the fuel filter housing and the systems would not happen while stopped. Still needing to deliver 30 more yards that day I decided to finish the deliveries and try to figure it out later. Well before I could make the delivery I had in the trailer at the time it cut off and would not crank with the key all lights on the dash came on and power was not the problem, I jumped the stater solenoid with the key in the run position cranked would not start checked all the fuses found one blown 20 amp fuse not sure what fuse it was but I replaced it. So I had it towed home checked the starter relay circuit it has power in the crank position but no ground checked the ground wire back to the PCM wire is good less than 0.5 ohms resistance now I need to replace the PCM but I think that was caused by what ever made the lights come on in the first place so I'm still looking for the root cause of my issue. Before I burn up another PCM. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
