Hey guys my 7.3 has me stumped its an 02 f250 with auto trans and 246000 miles. The only mods I have are an after market intake and it's been straight piped. The problem I'm having is that I have this strange tapping noise that comes and goes at idle in either park or in gear. There has not been any change in power or fuel mileage. The best way I can describe it is a tap similar to a valve tapping on a gas engine but it comes and goes and doesn't seem to matter if the engine is warm or cold. Sometimes it will go for weeks without doing it and others it does it every day. Sounds like its on the drivers side front of the motor but not 100% sure on that. Was going to try and get a video of it but to much other back ground noise and it didn't come out. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me as I'm fairly new to diesels and still have a lot to learn.
