Hey guys,
I'm new to this forum but I've had my 05 F250 for 5 years and decided to jump in and get your opinion on the latest issue.
Like I said, I have an 05 F250 Supercrew 4x4 with 203k on it and I have been through ALL of the issues that people have discussed in every forum. At 95k, Ford replaced the heads and numerous other components under warranty as fuel was getting into the cooling system, at 100,960 the EGR cooler and oil cooler went bad and I paid to have them replaced (despite being less than 1000 miles out of warranty. Things went well for 65k and it started puking coolant again and we found that the head gaskets replaced under warranty needed to be replace due to "bolt stretch", so I had it studded with A1 studs, black onyx gaskets, bought the EGR delete kit from Custom Diesel (along with oil cooler), changed two injectors that were beginning to go bad and put a new radiator in it. At 196k, it began shutting down and wouldn't crank again until it cooled off. We found that diesel was mixing into the oil and once the oil got thinned out it couldn't keep the HPOP going. So I changed all 8 injectors, FICM, ICP, IPR harness, updated dummy plugs and updated stand pipes, a couple glow plugs and the degas bottle, which most likely got cracked during removal to get to the FICM. Now at 203k, I am getting intermittent weeping (not necessarily puking) around the cap of the degas bottle. It hasn't given me any overheating problems and has only lost maybe 16 oz of coolant over the past couple of weeks since I discovered it. Truck is parked in the same place under my carport day in and day out and there no puddles of any kind on the concrete.
I said all of that to ask this...Head gaskets again?
