1997 F250 HD with 12X3 rear drums. Replaced wheel cylinders, shoes, springs, and drums. Install and adjust, all OK. Drive it and the driver side rear drum heats up. Check them and it drags on part of rotation but not cyclical and only in the forward rotation but not in the reverse direction. Also bad vibration when braking. Drums do not appear warped. I have swapped out with the old drum and vibration goes away but still dragging. Swapped wheel cylinder and another new drum and still same problem, vibration and dragging to the point I can smell brakes.
I know drum brakes and everything looks fine.
Why dragging only in forward rotation? Vibration on 2 new drums that both measure round. E-brake seems ok.
Only thing I did not swap out was replacing the new shoes with another set.
Any ideas?
