What about axle nut torque spec?

Here's another question that I figure is pretty easy for most of you....Could you tell me the Ft.Lb. torque for the front axle (wheel bearing) nut? I am about to R&R front hub rotors & pads and don't have access to any shop manuals. I was planning to just snug them down tight & then back off till the holes for the cotter pin lined up like in the old days (or the wheel spun without binding) but that's probably not best practice on heavier 1 Ton Vans. (or at least not when there is a site like this where the correct answer for such definitive numbers can be found). 40-50-80-100 pounds????? The possibilities are endless (almost) LOL Thanks in advance........................................... .....DDT Oh...I guess I should probably include that it's a 2003 E-350 Single rear wheels & 4 wheel ABS. (That always seems to matter when ordering brakes & calipers). Any other specs. or advice on this job is welcome. I just realized I probably will need to order new seals for this R&R. I believe the races will be in the new rotor/hubs? Dealer said they were but I didn't order from that dealer. Plan on repacking old bearings if there good. Plan on cleaning up the slid pins & cleaning out the old rubber boots and repacking with sil grease. Grease on caliper back plates and locating tabs... Wonder what the torque for the caliper brackets is???? And the slid pins???? Just did (Tommy Torque) when I replaced the rears...LOL Oh...I plan to Remove the master cylinder fluid cap before pressing in the calipers. I also plan on installing self bleeders (speed bleeders) AND letting some of the old fluid drain out BEFORE I squeeze calipers so I dont back pump that dirty fluid up to the sensitive ABS area. (I have heard that can be an expensive problem if you damage/clog them by getting dirty brake fluid from the lower section of the brake line and in the calipers pumped backwards to them???) True??? No???? Does all this sound like good R7R brake job practice to you guys????? Do I need new seals? and what's the torque specs.??????? Thanks so much.....Sorry for the long post... Anything I am forgetting about?????? DDTom
