I had great success removing the driver side exhaust manifold bolts! For those of you that ever need to do so take my advise and use a 3/8" stubby flex head ratchet with about a 12" long cheater pipe and those guys will turn right out!!! No fender liner removal needed! Just be prepared to find a flex head torque wrench for re-installation.
So back to my question..... the book gives a sketchy sequence for putting the exhaust manifold bolts back in.... can anyone advise here? Can't really understand where sequence 2 starts..... is it at 4,3,2 then 1 or just the rearmost bolt of 1,2,3 then 4?
Also I got a-hold of some grade 9 3/8-16 bolts from fastenal...... looking at using these and curious on the torque value? One place in the book specs 30ft lbs and another place specs 20ft lbs..... and no I'm not confusing nm..... read ft lbs both places..... the book specs 30-32 for a 3/8-16 bolt so I'm guessing 30 is correct but would like some moral support here : ) Any thoughts on using lock washers under these bolt heads?
