Okay I'm new to owning diesels. I work on them everyday at work tho. I fell in love with our 96 f250 singlecab 5 speed manual 2 wheel drive. I notice it has no low end HP (very slow)but when you hit about 2000 rpm and that turbo starts really boosting man it gets up and goes.also im starting in second gear cause I Feal 1st is just too low. Anyways a 1997 f350 single cab single rear wheel(not dually) with a 5 speed and 4x4 came up for sale. The guys asking 7000. It looks really clean and only after market is a k&n drop air canister.(not fully open filter.) So it has like 190,000 miles on it and its lifted slightly unless the come that high stock and has new Toyo mud tires. its hauled a horse trailer and been on a deer lease. He says it hasn't been mudding and I know the signs of a truck that's been boggin but if he did mud it, it wasn't anything serious. He's older too.everything else is perfect you can see the motors decently clean not all waxed up like a dealer does. The only problem is the steering stabalizer broke and it kinda pulls the wheel at high speed. Seems like a minor fix. Is 7000 a good price? He wont go any lower. He needs to replace the engine in his dually. His dually is a newer nicer model and my guess is he wants to sell this cause it the work truck option. No power anything. No room for more than 2 people. The interior is great exterior great. New toolbox in bed. It's now his driver so I guess that means nothing major wrong. Is it worth 7000. I mean a 97 single cab 5 speed with over 200000 miles and beat up is worth 4000 here in tx where I live
