After sitting for 3 days with no replies in the "Brakes" forum, I thought I would try posting this here.
I am about to do a big brake project and I have a few questions.
1. Which axle do I have? See signature for truck. Has manual hubs. Rotors come in different sizes and for different axles. Leads to my next question...
2. Which size rotors? Most seem to be 12.99" diameter, but the Motorsport parts page says they are 13.5"?
3. 3 of the pads are very fat, 1 pad is down to nothing. Possible sticky slide pins, but I think it may be the caliper. Is it as easy to clean and put fresh seals/dust boots in a truck caliper as it to do on a motorcycle caliper?
4. Do I have to replace all 16 wheel studs? I know I need to bash them out, to seperate the hub and rotor. Trying to keep costs down...
5. Any opinions on what parts to use? I would LOVE to use this kit, because it is so cheap- More Information for POWER STOP KOE5089 Otherwise, I am going to go to Napa. But their online descriptions are pretty lacking. Basically the only difference between most Napa brand products is the price.
6. How hard is it to replace the brake lines? I build my entire system on my motorcycle, very easy putting banjos together. Everything looks different and harder on my truck.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and answering any of the questions.
