I recently purchased a 2013 F350 Crew Cab with the 6.7L. I am doing research as to what oil i am going to be using in my truck starting at the second oil change and beyond (First oil change is being done by the dealership free of charge). This is the first diesel I have offically owned and is the first in the family since my dad traded in the 06' 6.0L he had.
I am wondering if anyone has really seen a difference in engine performance, mpg, etc between using a 10W-30 semi sythetic blend (Ford recommended) and a 5W-40 synthetic? I am not worried about as to which manufactures oil to go with or the price difference. Yes i know there is a price difference, but I do not want that to be part of the discussion here.
I've done some searches on here, but they all seem to go off on which brand to use rather than comparing the oils themselves. Thanks for any thoughts or input you may have.
