I have a 2003 7.3 that is giving me codes P0471 Exhaust pressure circuit malfunction and P1249 wastegate control valve performance. 5000 miles ago I replaced the exhuast pressure sensor and tube after having the P0471 code and poor mileage for awhile and that took care of the problem. Could the sensor be bad again already?
I did have a bonehead moment when replacing the egr tube, and started the engine before pluging the new sensor in. This resulted in the connector wires being sheared off in the belt which I reconnected with butt connectors, could these be loose and causing the problem, I plan to solder them once it warms up.
The wastegate issue is new though, and i can hear it is not functioning properly, and will intermittently stop making boost. What is involved in fixing this?
Thanks in advance for any help.
