I picked up my truck this morning from my dealership having had the Ford fuel filters replaced. Nothing found but I did ask, when I dropped it off yesterday, about adding the two bowl fuel filtering system I've seen on this site. Today I was told that the service manager and diesel tech (both whom I've known for many years and trust them) strongly advised against adding such. Reason given was that Ford would take any opportunity to deny engine issue claims and that fuel (water in fuel) would be covered under my vehicle insurance policy. Called my insurance agent (Farmers Insurance Group) and he checked, called me back and said they had never heard of such a thing. No such coverage. So, any real history on this -- who has had problems, how was it covered (if covered) and such. Appreciate your help in deciding this -- I can not afford to pay for a new engine myself but from what I read Ford's filters don't protect me from that either.
