Help welded EGR

Long story but here it goes,
I bought a 2005 6.0 a month ago from a good friend.... He bought the truck a year ago from the local dealership, when he bought the truck they gave him a written contract that they would fix anything and everything with it til it was fixed... So they were having some problems and they told him that he needed a EGR delete kit and it would be fixed... So they told him they put a delete kit on it but they didn't... They just had it welded... I pull a trailor all the time with it and my wrench light come on so I took it to the dealership and had it scanned and the mechanic said he already knew what was wrong.... He said we had the EGR welded and stopped the flow of the coolant through the oil cooler... He said this Truck will not work pulling a load.... So I called my friend and told him the deal and he went to the dealership and flew all over them becuase he was lied to...I told him I would buy the delete kit if they would put it on and they agreed to put it on for me... Is a delete kit what I need to get the coolant flow back through the oil cooler.... ?
