I searched but didn't find my answer.
One of my trucks killed its turbo. The truck is tuned (Innovative SC Tuner), has 4 inch exhaust, and studs. It pulls 15-17K horse trailer 85% of the time.
This is the best time to do an upgrade to powermax if I ever wanted to.
Will that turbo have excessive lag or any other side effects if bolted in place of stock?
Will I need a custom tune or hate it?
What I have read is all over the place.
I want to go with this turbo because it should not be off its map running 20+ psi a great deal of the time pulling its normal load. Lower inlet and exhaust temps are good things.
What I don't want is loads of lag and needing to spend even more money just to get truck to run nice like it did before the turbo took a crap today.
Thanks for any tips you can give from experience of installing one of these on your truck.
