Messed-up crankshaft threads?

I have a problem.

I went to replace my LPOP, and when I put the harmonic balancer puller on, I neglected to pull the washer and put the crankshaft bolt back in the hole.

So I threaded the big puller bolt a solid inch or two into the crank hole...it's pretty much exactly the same size as the bolt hole but with finer threads. :headbang:

The crankshaft bolt will start to thread in, but it quickly becomes hard to turn...what should I do? Just crank it in and see what happens? What are my options here? Oy...This really sucks...
