Repair or New Engine

I have a '08 F550 with 182K miles. I bought it new and use it in my biz. I will be making the last payment on it this month. Besides the normal radaitor problems, I've had no issues at all with it. It's been a good truck and is still pretty clean. Its either driven by me or 1 other employee.

Anyways, lately it developed a power loss when loaded pulling a hill, but afterwards return back to normal. And then Friday it did it on the interstate. So after unloading I dropped it off at the local Dealer where I bought it new.

The service manger called me yesterday and said the oil radiator (?) was stopping up and a pipe on the turbo was cracked. Not too serious, but the cab would have to be pulled. Cost to fix would be $3100. After the initial shock, I thought that won't be too bad, just 4 payments. And then they called and said they thought there was another issue and they all needed to be addressed while the cab was off. So today I learn that the fuel system is completly shot and full of metal shavings. And the total cost is now $9100 forf a new fuel system, oil radiator and pipe fixed. And they can't tell me if there is any internal damage to the engine from the oil radiator or not.

So I'm thinking a new create engine complete with a warrenty would be the better option. Cost would be $14K or maybe less. The service manager said there would be less labor in an engine swap than to repair the old one.

I'm a little discouraged because I can see that final payment being made on the 22nd of this month, and now I'll have to borrow 15K or so and refinance my truck.

And I was (and still am) thinking about trading in my daily driver, '10 6.4, for a '14 350 SRW. And I never thought I would say this, but I'm seriously thinking of a V10 instead of the 6.7.

Sorry to be so long winded...

Any advice from wiser ones than me????
