Hey guys, I'm new here but I haven't been able to find any answers to my specific problem on the threads (well one of them).
First of all, I have a 1994 F350 IDI Turbo with about 140k on it. I've had it for just over a year and haven't spent a lot of time under the hood other than to install new lockers, replace the water separator, and do basic fluid changes. I've known since I bought it I had an oil leak up top which upon inspection appears to be coming out of the turbo as well as the valve covers. Due to overheating and trouble cold-starting I'm in the process of replacing glow plugs, the radiator, fan clutch, and thermostat. Not to mention I found a huge crack in the left exhaust manifold so now I've opted to just replace the exhaust all the way back with a 4" AFE pipe (don't get me started on how the place I bought it from said it would bolt on).
Since I was committed and the mileage was about right, I decided to put new injectors in there as well. I pulled the front passenger side injector (#1 I believe) and found a good amount of magnetized metal shavings stuck to it.
Now I'm completely stumped. I have no idea what could have caused it or what to do to fix it. I pulled the #3 injector and there's not a hint of shavings. I haven't dug much deeper but I'm dreading the thought of possibly needing a new IP. With all the parts I'm buying my credit is maxed and I'm starting to wonder what else I'm going to have to repair/replace on this thing.
