Hello Gents, I have read up on this issue but I can't narrow it down on my own. I recently purchased a 1986 6.9 with 130k. It has run great for 1k miles but yesterday it lost power about 5 miles away from home and died when I let my foot off the accelerator. It starts back up immediately. If I let it sit for 5 minutes or so, I can drive another 5 miles before it does this again. I don't know any maintenance history such as lift pump injectors and ip.
I have noticed a fuel leak on top of the engine probably from at least 1 injector. There is also a puddle of fuel behind the air filter box in that void on top of the engine. I'm not sure if this is coming from an injector or the back of the filter box. I'd appreciate any ideas on how to get her running strong again. Keep in mind I have a limited knowledge of these engines and repairs in general. Thanks in advance.
