Fuel pressure

After reading a few post on this forum and going through the old posts , I have now decided to monitor my fuel pressure.
How many out there run a mechanical gauge on the fuel bowl ? And how does it work ( does it jump around or spike ?) .
How many out there has the electronic gauge ?
With the mechanical gauge do you need to install a snubber?
Does the heat from the engine bay affect the readings?
Which port on the bowl do you use the lower one or the top one?
Where do I buy the parts for either of these options?
