Alright so it is about 5 degrees here in Washington. Recently I started my truck after plugging it in over night and drove it after letting it warm for about 8 minutes. When I drove it, it was accelerating and responding to the throttle just fine. But then it started to sputter and would not respond. It would just slow down and then all of a sudden respond then sputter down. I parked my truck and then came back and drove it again and started to do the same thing again.
Started to sputter right close to 2000 rpm and smoke starts coming out, vehicle slows down. end up having to drive about 15-20 mph. If I drive faster it sputters.
Oil is fine, coolant is fine, truck not over heating, no water in fuel light on.
I am thinking maybe a gunked carb or glow plugs, but I am not an expert by any means with diesels. Could it just be an issue of not letting the engine warm up enough or frozen lines?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
